It’s elimination finals time in the Dream11 Super Smash as the Wellington Blaze travel back to Auckland to keep their shot at a fourth straight T20 title alive against the Hearts tomorrow.
A nail-biting seven-run loss to the Hearts on Saturday at Eden Park Outer Oval means the Blaze will have to take the long route to a potential home final at the Basin Reserve, with everything on the line in Auckland tomorrow.
“It was obviously disappointing to miss out on a direct route to the final last time out,” said Blaze head coach Ivan Tissera.
“But we’re taking the positives out of the game and we’ve refocused for a do or die match tomorrow.
“We’ve trained well, we know what is required to get the result that we need and we’re excited to go out and get the job done.”
The Blaze will be buoyed by the return of Leigh Kasperek who was unavailable for Saturday’s match.
It means the Blaze are full strength for finals week after Rebecca Burns also returned to the side last weekend.
Play gets underway from 4.10pm at Eden Park Outer Oval in Auckland – spectator entry is free.
