KIRIKITI

Kirikiti (Samoan cricket) has a long history of play in Wellington dating back to the 1980’s.

2024/25 is a big year for the sport, which will include the first season of a Wellington Kirikiti Club Competition and College Kirikiti Festival. See below for ways to get involved!



Kirikiti Premier League (KPL)


In partnership with Wellington Samoa Kirikiti Association (WSKA) and Healthy Families Hutt Valley, we bring you Kirikiti Premier League (KPL). The inaugural season starts Friday 1 November 2024, 6pm at Fraser Park. Both female and male competitions will run with a round robin and a final to determine overall winners.

Dates: Fridays, 1 November – 20 December 2024

Time: 6pm

Location: Fraser Park, Lower Hutt

Cost: The team entry fee is $250. This is due via bank transfer by 15 October to secure an entry into the competition.

Kirikiti College Festival


Wellington Samoa Kirikiti Association, College Sport Wellington, and Cricket Wellington are excited to bring you the inaugural Kirikiti College Festival 2024. The day will be a celebration of language and culture through the traditional Samoan sport of Kirikiti. Registrations will be available for college-aged mixed, girls, and boys teams.

Kilikiti at the Basin


The inagural Kilikiti at the Basin event held on 9 March 2024 and was a resounding success. An action packed day full of Kirikiti games, give it a go sessions for kids, cultural performances and delicious pacific foods.

Filimalae Kirikiti Tournament
