A mix of youth and experience is the feature of the Whiting Financial Services Wellington Under 19 men's squad, named today by co-coaches Luke Woodcock and Neeraj Chawla.
Six players return from last year's squad, including New Zealand Under 19 international Ryan Jackson, as well as Tim Robinson and Micah Conroy, who were members of last year's wider squad for the U19 World Cup in South Africa.
There are also seven faces who make the Under 19 squad for the first time.
Micah Conroy will captain the side as they begin preparations towards the National U19 tournament which will be held from 17 - 23 December at the New Zealand Cricket High Performance Centre in Lincoln.
Woodcock said he was pleased with the effort and dedication from players throughout the winter training phase and was looking forward to focusing on the national tournament in December.
“We are very excited about the 13 players that have been picked for this year’s tournament,” he said.
"We have 5 weeks preparation of trainings and practice matches ahead of us so we will be giving the boys every chance to be ready for Lincoln.”
The side have already begun their preparations for the national tournament and will depart for Lincoln on December 16.
