Super Smash Finals scenarios

It's finals week in the Dream11 Super Smash and, while only two regular season matches remain, the dates and times of the finals are still unconfirmed. Here's what we know and the possible scanario's heading into a big week of domestic T20 cricket!

 

What we know...

The top three teams in both the men's and women's competition are confirmed. The Wellington Blaze, Auckland Hearts and Otago Sparks have qualified for the finals in the women's competition, while the Wellington Firebirds, Otago Volts and Auckland Aces have qualified for the finals in the men's competition.

The top three placings are confimed in the women's competition. The Blaze are guaranteed a home final having qualified top with ten wins from ten. They will play the winner of the Women's Elimination Final between the Hearts and the Sparks which will be played at Eden Park Outer Oval on Thursday. The date of the women's final is yet to be confirmed.

The Auckland Aces are guaranteed third place in the men's competition. They will face the Volts in Dunedin, or the Firebirds in Wellington in the Men's Elimination Final.

 

Remaining possible scenarios...

The dates and venues and teams contesting the remaining three finals matches are still to be determined and will be influenced by the results of the Canterbury Kings v Otago Volts match at Hagley Oval tomorrow afternoon.

 

If the Kings win...

The Wellington Firebirds will qualify top of the men's competition which will mean a Grand Final Double-header will be staged at the Basin Reserve on Sunday 19th January. The Women's Final will start at 12.40pm followed by the Men's Final at 4.10pm.

The Otago Volts will host the Auckland Aces in the Men's Elimination Final at the University of Otago Oval on Friday 17th January. The winner will face the Firebirds in the men's final.

 

If the Volts win, or the match is rained off...

The Otago Volts will qualify top of the men's competition and will host the Men's Grand Final at the University of Otago Oval on Sunday 19th January.

The Wellington Firebirds will host the Men's Elimination Final against the Auckland Aces at the Basin Reserve on Friday 17th January at 4.10pm.

The Women's Grand Final will be played on Saturday 18th January at the Basin Reserve at 4.10pm between the Wellington Blaze and the winner of the Women's Elimination Final.
