Trish McKelvey Lounge Unveiled at the Cello Basin Reserve


On the eve of the first WHITE FERNS vs Australia ODI, Cricket Wellington and the Basin Reserve Trust are proud to unveil the member’s Longroom will been named after NZC Hall of Fame inductee, Trish McKelvey.

As a nod to Trish’s storied careers as both a player and administrator, the naming of the Trish McKelvey Lounge carries huge significance for the Cello Basin Reserve as part of an ongoing commitment to women’s cricket, as the WHITE FERNS are poised to bring a sizable audience to the ground on the 19th of December, with over 2,500 tickets already gone.

This is a landmark naming for the Cello Basin Reserve, as the Trish McKelvey Lounge will be the first location in the ground to carry a woman’s name.

Trish's impact on the game has been nothing short of through leadership, your dedication, and your passion for cricket have paved the way for so many in this sport.

Her contributions to Cricket Wellington are well known and deeply valued. From her days as a player, representing Wellington and captaining New Zealand, to work off the field, being a tireless advocate for the game and for opportunities within it.
