Cricket Wellington’s General Manager Lisa Jones has announced her resignation from the organisation to accept the newly created senior leadership position of General Manager, Competitions and Events at New Zealand Football.
Lisa will remain in her position as General Manager through the busy December season, as Wellington welcomes the England Men and Australia Women’s sides to the Cello Basin Reserve in the lead-up to the holiday season. Her last day with Cricket Wellington will be January 17th, 2025.
CEO Todd Bryant noted the positive impact Jones has had on the organisation and wished her well for her new role.
“Lisa has made significant contributions during her time at Cricket Wellington”, said Bryant.
“Some highlights include leading key developments at the Cello Basin Reserve, securing international fixtures, driving changes to our competition structures, and enabling innovative community programs that have had a lasting impact. “
“Her work has positioned us for success and will continue to benefit Cricket Wellington.”
“I want to wish her all the very best in her new role at New Zealand Football – I have no doubt that she will continue to make a significant impact in the sports community”, he said.
Lisa Jones was thankful to those who made her time at Cricket Wellington successful.
“It’s a bittersweet day for me as I announce my departure from Cricket Wellington”, she said.
“I’ve been lucky to work with many different areas of the game, from the running of international fixtures all the way to grassroots cricket. The people in our sport are passionate and devoted to improving the game that we all love, and I have no doubt the sport, and our organisation, will continue to see the benefits of that”.
“Thank you to all of those who play a part in Wellington’s cricket network, I’m proud of the steps we’ve taken to make our game more accessible and more enjoyable for all”, Jones said.
Further details on the filling of the role with Cricket Wellington will be provided in due course.
