Taita District have claimed two of the first four community awards for this year's Celebration of Cricket. Over the next five days, the community and high performance awards will be presented in the lead-up to Cricket Wellington's awards night - the Celebration of Cricket.

These awards celebrate excellence in providing outstanding cricketing experiences for the people and communities of Wellington.

The first awards for 2022/23 are as follows:

Best and Fairest Club Team: Taita District Cricket Club

Best and Fairest Club Cricket Captain: Callum Mackaness (Wainuiomata)

Royal Visit Cup (Wellington Aggregate): Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club

Norwood Cup (Wellington Average): Taita District Cricket Club
