“What’s more, it makes perfect sense for Sky Broadband to support the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 as official broadband partner, given its role is to help more New Zealanders stream the sport and entertainment we know they love,” said Sky CEO Sophie Moloney.
Sophie Moloney, Sky CEO said, “Our superpower is showing just what is possible. “This landmark event is the first of three high profile sporting competitions in New Zealand which will showcase women’s sport at the highest level, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of the team. We’ll be bringing every exhilarating moment to life on Sky Sport and enabling Kiwis to stream the world’s best women’s cricket in the best possible way on Sky GO and Sky Sport Now. By extending our free to air coverage on Prime, we know more tamariki and rangatahi will be inspired to follow in their heroines’ footsteps.”
To ensure fans can watch every moment of the tournament wherever they are, Sky is offering a $25 Sky Sport Now Tournament Pass to stream all 31 games live. And, so more New Zealanders can follow the action, every weekend match played by New Zealand’s White Ferns will screen free to air on Prime, and the 4 March opening clash against the West Indies. Extended highlights of all other WHITE FERNS matches will also be available on Prime. The decision to offer more free to air access is in response to fans not being able to attend the game due to Covid restrictions.
“Tamariki need to see the action to become fans and we’re grateful more young girls in Aotearoa can ‘see it to be it’, take up cricket and follow in the footsteps of Suzie Bates or Sophie Devine.”
“While they are here in our backyard, our mission is making the best players in the world accessible to more New Zealanders. This partnership does just that and we’re so delighted to be able to do this with Sky,” said CWC 22 CEO Andrea Nelson.
On the cusp of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, the team is delighted to announce Sky Broadband joining as the broadband services partner while Sky is also offering a special Sky Sport Now offer to celebrate.skysportnow.co.nz.
