UPDATE AT 6.00pm | TUESDAY 7 SEPTEMBER, 2021
The Wellington School of Cricket will open to members and public on Thursday 9th September, however there will be some extra safety measures in place.
MASKS – Government guidelines state while using indoor recreation facilities, users must wear a face covering wherever possible. It is not mandatory to wear a mask while exercising or playing sport. At WSC we now require all users over 12 years to wear a mask when arriving and leaving the facility and where possible. Masks are not required whilst performing physical activity, i.e. batting or bowling. All coaches are encouraged wear masks.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - At indoor facilities it is now mandatory to keep 2 metres apart from others. Lane space will be limited and there is a maximum of 4 individuals per lane, with 2 meter distancing in place. If you plan to have more than four people attend a training, please book additional lanes. We recommend that clubs or schools who have large team training split their session in half, and train in two smaller groups to manage this social distancing requirement.
SPECTATORS - There is a new limit of 50 people in indoor venues. To reduce the number of people in our facilities, we ask that players are dropped at the door, and parents or caregivers do not spectate in the facility.
CONTACT TRACING - Please note that it is now a legal requirement to sign in by scanning the NZ Covid Tracing QR code upon entering the facility. When booking a session, Book-a-Net requires the user to input details of all attendees for contract tracing purposes. We ask that coaches also keep a record of all attendees for contact tracing requirements.
OTHER CHANGES:
We appreciate the support of all users to comply with these protocols to ensure WSC is a safe environment.
